Ryan Arens, JD, has been appointed as the new Chief Strategy Officer and General Counsel at Austin Regional Clinic (ARC). In this dual role, Arens will work with the executive team to lead strategic initiatives and partnerships for ARC. His responsibilities will also include managing relationships with health plans, overseeing the organization’s real estate portfolio, and supervising compliance, risk, and legal teams.

Arens has served as Vice President and General Counsel at ARC for the past four years. Since joining in 2021, he has contributed to the organization’s strategic growth by renegotiating health plan contracts that support value-based care and helping expand ARC’s services to include ambulatory surgery centers and advanced radiology.

Anas Daghestani, MD, President and CEO of ARC, stated: “Ryan has a proven track record supporting our vision, as seen through our recent expansions in services and locations, and his leadership over the last four years. We are excited to see him grow in his role as we continue to make strategic decisions that benefit our patients and all of ARC.”

Before joining ARC, Arens held leadership positions in other healthcare organizations. His previous experience includes working with another independent medical group, an academic medical center at Wake Forest University, and one of the largest health plan networks in the Carolinas and Virginia.

“This is an exciting time for ARC as we expand on our promise of coordinated, comprehensive, accessible healthcare,” said Arens. “I look forward to working with our teams to ensure ARC remains the leading health care provider for Central Texas.”
