Library workers at the Baltimore County Public Library, represented by IAM Local 4538, have regained their part-time jobs after a collective effort. The union highlighted that having a contract provided both protection and a platform for workers to express their concerns.
In a statement, the union said, “It’s protection. It’s a voice. It’s what gave them the power to fight and successfully get their jobs back.”
Union members organized, spoke up, and supported each other during the process. According to the union, this outcome demonstrates how standing together can help workers defend their livelihoods and secure respect in the workplace.
The group stated, “This victory is a reminder to working people everywhere: when workers stand together, they can defend their livelihoods, protect their futures, and win the dignity and respect they deserve.”
