The U.S. Census Bureau has published new data tables from the Annual Survey of State Government Finances, summarizing state government finances for fiscal year 2024. The release includes information on revenue sources, expenditures, and debt for each state.

According to the Census Bureau, “Federal, state and local governments, and educational and research organizations use the data for comparative studies and other activities like developing the government component of the gross domestic product.”

This survey is conducted regularly as a supplement to the Annual Survey of State and Local Government Finances.
