The U.S. Census Bureau announced on March 10 that it will provide a two-day embargo period for qualified media to access the Vintage 2025 population estimates. The embargo will allow select members of the press to review data on total population and demographic changes for U.S. counties, metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas, as well as Puerto Rico municipios.

This embargo is set to begin Tuesday, March 24 at 10 a.m. Eastern Time and end Thursday, March 26 at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time. During this time, registered media can view the new estimates reflecting population changes from April 1, 2020 through July 1, 2025.

According to the Census Bureau, embargo subscribers may also request interviews with agency experts during the restricted period by emailing their requests in advance. Media representatives are encouraged to confirm their login credentials by March 23 to ensure uninterrupted access.

The Census Bureau emphasized that any information obtained under embargo cannot be published or shared until the official public release date and time on March 26 at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time. Registration for embargo access is available through the Census Bureau’s dedicated site.

The upcoming release of these estimates provides journalists with an early look at recent demographic trends across U.S. regions and Puerto Rico before they become publicly available.
