The U.S. Census Bureau has announced it will release three national reports on income, poverty, and health insurance coverage for 2024 at an online news conference scheduled for September 9 at 10 a.m. EDT.
The reports—Income in the United States: 2024, Poverty in the United States: 2024, and Health Insurance Coverage in the United States: 2024—draw on data from the Current Population Survey Annual Social and Economic Supplement (CPS ASEC). These documents provide national statistics on annual income, earnings, inequality, official and supplemental poverty measures, as well as health insurance coverage trends by select characteristics.
A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation. The panel includes David Waddington, chief of the Social, Economic and Housing Statistics Division; Sharon Stern, assistant division chief for Employment Characteristics; Liana Fox, assistant division chief for Economic Characteristics; and Julie Iriondo, chief of the Media Relations Branch who will serve as moderator.
The Census Bureau stated: “The Census Bureau plans to post the reports, data tables and news release to the Income, Poverty and Health Insurance press kit online shortly after the news conference begins.”
The event will be held virtually using Webex by Cisco. Media representatives can ask questions by phone. Additional details about joining are available through the Census Bureau’s official event link: https://uscensusevents.webex.com/uscensusevents/j.php?MTID=m7e0f0fe492f905f5dbb5b500a6a5fcf7
