Governor Greg Abbott has announced a series of new appointments to key positions in Texas.

Ashley Wysocki has been appointed as Judge of the 301st Judicial District Court in Dallas County. Her term will run until December 31, 2026, or until a successor is elected and qualified.

For the Gulf Coast Protection District (GCPD) Board of Directors, Abbott reappointed Roger Guenther and named him chair. Sally Bakko, Michel Bechtel, Sharon Hulgan, and Lori Traweek were also reappointed to the board for terms expiring June 16, 2029. The GCPD is responsible for overseeing the implementation of an integrated and comprehensive coastal resilience strategy for the upper Texas coast.

Robert Rucker was appointed as Injured Employee Public Counsel with a term ending February 1, 2027. The Public Counsel’s office assists injured employees in the Workers’ Compensation system by managing the ombudsman program and advocating on their behalf.
