Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the next Governor’s Small Business Summit will take place in Eagle Pass on Thursday, September 11. The event is part of a series held throughout Texas each year to provide small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs with access to resources and information for starting and growing their businesses.
“Small businesses are the driving force behind Texas’ thriving economy,” said Governor Abbott. “With more than 3.5 million small businesses across Texas, employing nearly half of all working Texans, our state continues to lead in job creation and business expansion. I invite all small business owners and entrepreneurs to attend this Governor’s Small Business Summit or one in their region. Together, we will ensure that our small business community continues to thrive as we build a stronger, more prosperous Texas for generations to come.”
The summit in Eagle Pass will be held at the International Center for Trade from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The event brings together local, state, and federal partners who will share advice on important topics such as scaling or selling a business, financing strategies, marketing insights, and basic small business operations. Attendees can also network with other business owners and meet experts offering practical guidance.
Joe Esparza, Commissioner Representing Employers at the Texas Workforce Commission, is scheduled as the featured speaker.
Registration costs $20 and includes access to all sessions, resource providers, lunch, and complimentary headshots. Additional details about registration are available at gov.texas.gov/events.
Other upcoming summits are scheduled for Carthage on September 25; Denton on October 23 (a women-focused event); and Belton on November 13 (a veteran-focused event).
The Governor’s Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office also offers online webinars for small businesses seeking additional resources. Recordings of past webinars can be accessed at gov.texas.gov/business/page/small-business-webinars.
