The final Governor’s Small Business Summit of 2025 will take place in Belton on November 13, according to an announcement from Texas Governor Greg Abbott. The event will recognize veteran-owned businesses and aims to support small business owners and entrepreneurs by connecting them with information and resources.

Governor Abbott stated, “Small businesses are the cornerstone of our vibrant communities and the driving force behind the eighth largest economy in the world. Home to more than 3.5 million small businesses and 1 in 10 of all veteran-owned businesses in the U.S., our state continues to lead in job creation and business expansion. By supporting veteran entrepreneurs and ensuring our small businesses thrive, we will build a stronger, more prosperous Texas than ever before.”

The summit is set to bring together partners from local, state, and federal levels who will share insights on topics important for running a business. Attendees can network with other veteran business owners and hear from experts on a variety of issues facing small enterprises.

Scheduled sessions include introductions to starting a business, marketing strategies through collaboration, and integrating veterans into business operations. John Wayne Walding, Founder & CEO of Gallantry Global Logistics, will deliver a keynote titled “Lean Forward, Fight Hard.” Joe Esparza, Chairman representing employers at the Texas Workforce Commission, is also slated to speak.

Registration for the event costs $20. This fee includes entry to all sessions, lunch, access to resource providers, and complimentary headshots. Further details about registration are available at gov.texas.gov/events.

Looking ahead, locations for next year’s summits are expected to be announced early in 2026.

The Governor’s Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office and Office of Small Business Assistance also offer webinars for those seeking information online about resources for Texas small businesses. On-demand recordings of previous webinars can be accessed at gov.texas.gov/business/page/small-business-webinars.
