Governor Greg Abbott appointed Gary Krause and Eliza Santos McElhaney to the Nueces River Authority Board of Directors for terms set to expire on February 1, 2031, according to a Mar. 30 announcement. Mark Moczygemba and Chasey Sanchez, Ed.D., were also appointed for terms ending February 1, 2027.
The Nueces River Authority is responsible for managing the waters of the Nueces River Basin. Its duties include water conservation, floodwater management, water quality control, solid waste handling, as well as overseeing parks and recreational facilities.
Krause is retired and previously served as founder and president of Intercontinental Training. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Maryland, College Park. McElhaney is the founder of ESV Creative with over fifteen years in digital strategy and has held communications roles in both the Texas Senate and Office of the Lieutenant Governor.
Moczygemba works as an independent petroleum landman at Moczygemba Consulting Services and is affiliated with Knights of Columbus. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from The University of Texas at San Antonio. Sanchez serves as Director of Healthcare Analytics for Zimmet Healthcare Consultants while providing analytics services to Lakes Regional MHMR Center and Lubbock Independent School District; she holds degrees from Liberty University (LU) and American College of Education.
