Governor Greg Abbott announced on Mar. 26 the appointment of four individuals to the Red River Authority Board of Directors. Tonya Detten was reappointed, while Ron Mullins and Troy Weber were newly appointed for terms ending August 11, 2031. Ruben Arias was also appointed for a term ending August 11, 2027.
The Red River Authority oversees the control, conservation, and development of the watershed and water resources in the Red River and its Texas tributaries. The appointments are intended to support continued management and stewardship of these vital water resources.
Detten is retired and previously worked as director of benefits and systems at PanTeXas Deterrence. She currently serves as board president for Highland Park Independent School District’s school board. Mullins is also retired, having served as a utility regulatory officer with the Red River Authority of Texas, as well as holding leadership roles in local organizations such as First Baptist Church – Archer City.
Weber retired from Texas Instruments and leads Weber Advisors, Inc., while volunteering at Parkside Baptist Church and Center Cross Soup Kitchen. Arias owns Custom Water Services, LLC., after retiring from Amarillo’s Osage Surface Water Treatment Plant; he also serves on regional water utility boards.
