Governor Greg Abbott has named eight individuals to serve on the Public Sector Artificial Intelligence Systems Advisory Board. The appointments are for terms ending September 1, 2027.
The appointees include Heather Hall, Ph.D., chief information officer at the Texas Workforce Commission and president of the Texas Association for Strategic Solutions and Collaboration in Computing (TASSCC). Hall is also involved with the State Agency Coordinating Committee and other professional organizations. She holds degrees from Baylor University, The University of Texas at Austin, and the University of North Texas.
Sylvia Hernandez Kauffman is the chief information officer for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHS). Her previous roles include Inspector General for HHS and leadership positions within the agency. Before joining public service, she worked as a software development leader at Exxon Company, USA. Kauffman earned her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and a master’s degree from Harvard University.
Tina McLeod serves as chief information officer for the Texas Office of the Attorney General. She previously held IT leadership roles at Texas Health and Human Services and was an advisory board member for Austin Women in Technology. McLeod graduated from UT Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science.
Anh Selissen is chief information officer for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), leading its IT division since 2019. She previously served as deputy CIO at the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. Selissen holds degrees from Baylor University and Michigan Technological University.
Ronald Steffa is chief financial officer at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and has served in various financial management roles there. He is active in his local church community and holds business degrees from Sam Houston State University.
David Bolduc leads the Office of Public Insurance Counsel as agency head and public counsel. His experience includes legal roles across several state agencies over nearly five decades. Bolduc studied government at Bowdoin College before earning his law degree from UT School of Law.
Jaclyn Beerens is vice president of consulting services at CGI, with prior board experience including TASSCC and Healthier Texas. She graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in management.
Josh Chacona works as regional vice president of solution engineering at Snowflake, having previously held technical positions at Oracle, National Instruments, and Scapa North America. He earned his mechanical engineering degree from California State University.
