Governor Greg Abbott has announced several new appointments to state councils and task forces this week.

Lindsey Gohlke has been appointed and Romey Swanson reappointed to the Farm and Ranch Lands Conservation Council, with terms ending on February 1, 2031. The council provides advice and assistance to the Texas Farm and Ranch Lands Conservation Program (TFRLCP), helping with program administration and selecting grant recipients.

Peter J. Holt was named chair of the Governor’s Task Force on the Governance of Early Childhood Education and Care. Additional appointees include Jeff Austin, III, Leslie Callahan, Lori Gabbert Charney, Grant Coates, Reagan Curran, Tracy Hanson, Ed.D., Marisela Nava, John “J.” Puckett, Jennifer Stockemer, Ph.D., and Nancy Windham. Their terms will run through September 1, 2027. According to the announcement: “The governor’s task force on the governance of early childhood education and care is established to address the governance and operational challenges of the early childhood education system in this state.”

Scott Charbonneau was appointed to the Texas Interagency Council for the Homeless for a term that will last at the discretion of the governor. The council is responsible for coordinating state resources and services related to homelessness.
