Governor Greg Abbott appointed Philip George to the Upper Neches River Municipal Water Authority Board of Directors for a term set to expire on Feb. 1, 2031. The announcement was made on Mar. 31 and names George as the newest member responsible for helping oversee water resource development and conservation in the Upper Neches River basin, which includes Anderson, Cherokee, Smith, and Henderson Counties.

In addition to his professional work, he volunteers with Palestine YMCA and Knights of Columbus. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science in Taxation from the University of North Texas.
