Governor Greg Abbott announced on Apr. 6 the reappointment of Don Frazier, Ph.D., and Greg Sindelar, as well as the appointment of Ernesto Rodriguez, III to the Texas 1836 Project Advisory Committee. Their terms are set to expire on September 1, 2027. Frazier will continue in his role as chair of the committee.

The Texas 1836 Project Advisory Committee was established to promote patriotic education and increase awareness of values that support prosperity across Texas. The Governor’s office promotes economic opportunity, education and public safety while upholding Texas values, according to the official website.

Frazier is director of The Texas Center at Schreiner University and has worked for over thirty years in college classrooms across Texas. He has authored several books on state history and is involved with organizations such as The Philosophical Society of Texas and the Texas Historical Foundation. Frazier also serves as an advisor to The Alamo Historical Advisory Committee.

Sindelar is Chief Executive Officer for the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) and currently serves as interim president and chief executive officer of America First Policy Institute. His experience includes leadership roles within TPPF since 2007, board membership with America First Works, participation in Teneo and Senior Aggie Leadership Council, and volunteer work with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Central Texas.

Rodriguez is senior curator at Alamo Trust, Inc., where he focuses on research supporting interpretative planning for future exhibits at The Alamo Visitor Center and Museum. His work has appeared in publications such as Texas Monthly magazine and ABC News’ Good Morning America. He holds memberships in professional museum associations.
