Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Lindsey Gohlke and reappointed Romey Swanson to the Farm and Ranch Lands Conservation Council. Their terms will expire on February 1, 2031. The council advises and assists the Texas Farm and Ranch Lands Conservation Program (TFRLCP) in managing the program and selecting grant recipients. The TFRLCP aims to conserve working lands that are important for water resources, wildlife, and agricultural production.
Lindsey Gohlke is a lender at Security Bank of Texas. She is involved with the Texas Bankers Association, Independent Banker Association, St. Paul Lutheran Church, and McLennan County Farm Bureau. Gohlke earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Communication and Journalism from Texas A&M University.
Romey Swanson serves as executive director of Devils River Conservancy. He also leads the Texas Ornithological Society and Texas Herpetological Society, is a past president of the Texas Chapter of The Wildlife Society, and sits on the board of directors for the Texas Land Trust Council. Swanson holds a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology and a Master of Science in Wildlife Ecology from Texas State University.
