Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Wynn Rosser, Ph.D., to serve on the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB), with a term ending June 30, 2029. The SREB is an organization that collaborates with states to improve public education from early childhood through doctoral studies. It was established in 1948 by southern governors and legislators to address the connection between education and economic growth.

Wynn Rosser is currently the Commissioner of Higher Education and chief executive officer of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. He is also a member of the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians and the State Higher Education Executive Officer Association. Rosser’s educational background includes an associate degree from Kilgore College, as well as bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from Texas A&M University. He also holds an Emergency Medical Technician Certificate from the School of EMS in Tyler.
