Governor Greg Abbott spoke about Texas’ innovation and economic leadership during a fireside chat at the Forward Fort Worth mobility innovation summit on March 24. The event included a discussion moderated by The Perot Group Chairman Ross Perot Jr., with participation from Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker and Hillwood President Mike Berry.
Abbott said that Texas is setting an example in building a diversified economy and aims to be the most self-sustainable state economy in the country. “We are really leading the way in a diversified economy, making sure we will be able to have the most self-sustainable state economy in the country,” Abbott said. “Almost any industry that you can think of, Texas is already leading in, and more importantly, we are attracting even more of those businesses to the state. If you are not in Texas, this is the safest place to build your business and to raise a family. If you are not here yet, get here quickly.”
The Governor discussed how job-creating corporate relocations and expansions have been driven by what he described as Texas’ pro-business mindset and environment for free enterprise. He also highlighted that innovative leaders from sectors such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, nuclear energy, and advanced manufacturing are choosing to invest or expand operations within Texas.
According to the official website, Governor Abbott’s office has contributed to job growth across Texas with record employment levels being reached under his leadership since his election in 2014. The office maintains its primary location at Austin’s State Insurance Building while delivering services statewide according to the same source.
The official website also notes that Governor Abbott was recognized among TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in 2024 according to their records. His administration has focused on creating jobs, expanding economic opportunities, enhancing education systems, protecting individual liberties, empowering parents regarding schooling choices for their children, and addressing southern border security issues according to official information.
