Governor Greg Abbott announced on Mar. 23 the reappointment of Jed Alton Brown as presiding officer of the Webb County – City of Laredo Regional Mobility Authority, with a term set to expire on February 1, 2028. The authority is a political subdivision that works with local and state leaders to deliver transportation infrastructure projects for Webb County and the City of Laredo.
Brown is president of The Brownstone Group, Inc., where he works as a real estate developer and general contractor for multi-family housing properties. He also serves on the policy committee for the Laredo & Webb County Area Metropolitan Planning Organization and previously served three terms on the Webb County Appraisal Review Board. In addition to his professional roles, Brown has volunteered as a board leader and coach in several youth sports leagues, holds a real estate broker’s license, and is an active private pilot. Governor Abbott first appointed him to this position in 2019.
