Governor Greg Abbott announced on Apr. 1 the reappointment of Robert “Bobby” Skov to the Rio Grande Compact Commission for a term ending February 15, 2031. The commission is responsible for administering the provisions of an agreement among Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, and the United States.
The appointment comes as part of ongoing efforts by state leadership to manage water resources shared between these states. The role is significant due to its impact on agriculture and regional cooperation in water management.
Skov owns SK2 Farms LLC and volunteers as Director at Weststar Bank. He has previously served as president of both the Valley Gin Company and the El Paso Valley Cotton Association. Skov holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University.
