Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Sue Allen, Larry Moczygemba, D.V.M., and Victoria Whitehead to the Texas State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. Their new terms will expire on August 26, 2031. The board is responsible for setting and enforcing policies to ensure quality veterinary and equine dental services in Texas.

Sue Allen, from Waco, is a licensed veterinary technician. She serves as program director and professor of veterinary technology at McLennan Community College. Previously, she worked as a registered veterinary technician in Gatesville. Allen is affiliated with several professional organizations including the North Central Texas Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association. She has also volunteered with local educational and livestock events. Allen holds an Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Texas State Technical College.

Lawrence “Larry” Moczygemba, D.V.M., of Berclair founded South Texas Veterinary Clinic, which has served south Texas since 1986. He currently works as a relief veterinarian and ambulatory beef cattle veterinarian with STVC services. Moczygemba is a former president of the Academy of Veterinary Consultants and co-founder of the Academy of Rural Veterinarians. He is also a member of multiple veterinary associations and conservation groups. His academic background includes degrees from Texas A&M University and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

Victoria Whitehead, based in Lubbock, is chief executive officer of the West Texas Home Builders Association, Inc. She sits on boards such as the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce and Caprock Business Finance Corporation, and is involved with organizations like the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) of Lubbock. Whitehead also leads West Texas Hero Homes and participates in fundraising for cancer research. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University.
