Governor Abbott schedules runoff election for previous 18th Congressional District seat

Governor Greg Abbott has announced that a runoff election for the unexpired term in the previous 18th Congressional District will take place on Saturday, January 31, 2026. The seat was vacated following the passing of Congressman Sylvester Turner.

Early voting for this runoff is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
