The Virginia IAM Council recently held a meeting that brought together union members and leaders to discuss key labor issues and political activism. Charles Mann, president of the council, spoke about the importance of ensuring security, fair compensation, and safety for members. He also encouraged members to participate in the upcoming Virginia elections, emphasizing the significance of supporting candidates who advocate for labor rights, as all major statewide offices and delegate seats are on the ballot.

Newly organized IAM Union members from botanical gardens shared their organizing experiences during the event. The meeting also recognized the strategic resources and organizing support provided by both International and state union partners, including the AFL-CIO.

Speakers at the council underscored the importance of political engagement and voting as essential tools to advance the labor movement and protect worker rights, stating that these efforts should transcend party lines.
