The 2025 IAM International President’s Classic golf tournament raised over $150,000 for the Maine Museum of Innovation, Learning and Labor (Maine MILL). The event took place at Fox Ridge Golf Club in Auburn, Maine, and brought together members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), labor allies, and supporters from across North America.
The funds will support the rehabilitation of Maine MILL’s former Camden Yarns Mill and help establish a permanent home for the museum. Construction on the new facility has already started, with plans to open in summer 2026. The future museum will include permanent and temporary galleries, a classroom, children’s area, and design lab. Organizers hope it will become a center for education and community engagement in Lewiston, Maine.
“This event is about honoring the history of working people and giving back to the communities that raised us,” said IAM International President Brian Bryant. “Supporting Maine MILL means preserving the stories of the working class. As someone who grew up in Maine, this cause is close to my heart, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we accomplished together.”
Participants included dozens of teams representing various IAM locals as well as other labor movement partners. The day featured raffles, giveaways, and remarks from both IAM leadership and representatives from Maine MILL.
“This incredible show of support from International President Bryant and the IAM Union will help us continue preserving and celebrating the legacy of Maine’s workers,” said Rachel Ferrante, Executive Director of the Maine MILL. “We’re so grateful to everyone who participated and donated. Your generosity is making history.”
Over 50 organizations sponsored holes at the tournament. Gold sponsors included several IAM offices such as the International President’s Office, Eastern Territory office, District 4, Local S6; along with Jones Granger Law Firm and Employee Benefit Systems Inc. Silver sponsors included other regional IAM territories as well as National Group Protection, American Income Life, Met Life Investment Management, The Kelly Companies among others.
The fundraising supports ongoing efforts by Maine MILL to document local labor history while offering educational opportunities for visitors.
