The IAM Midwest Territory recently held its first Snowmobile Run Fundraiser in Eagle River, Wisconsin, to support Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines (GDA | TLC). The event brought together union members, their families, and community supporters to raise funds for the charity.

More than 20 participants rode snowmobiles along the Northwoods trails. This initiative is part of the IAM Midwest Territory’s ongoing efforts to assist GDA | TLC and reflects the union’s commitment to community service beyond its usual activities.

After the ride, leadership from the Midwest Territory presented the “IAM Midwest Territory Top Dog Award” to IAM District 5. Jeff Hoopman, Directing Business Representative for District 5, accepted the award on behalf of his district for raising the most funds for GDA | TLC in 2025.

“The Spirit of the Midwest continues to grow because of the dedication of our members,” said IAM Midwest Territory General Vice President Sam Cicinelli. “Thank you to everyone who participated and donated. Their commitment and generosity make a lasting impact far beyond the winter trails.”

The event was organized by Ronnie Gonzalez, Special Representative for IAM Midwest Territory. Gonzalez played a key role in making this first-time fundraiser a success.

“We are incredibly grateful to TrackSide, a family-owned business, for providing the snowmobile rentals and delivering a first-class tour experience,” said Gonzalez. “We also want to thank their general manager for generously donating the snowmobile gear rentals. Their support allowed our participants to focus on what truly matters – raising funds and awareness for GDA | TLC.”

Support also came from IAM General Secretary-Treasurer Dora Cervantes and IAM Eastern Territory General Vice President David Sullivan along with their teams.

Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines offers trained service dogs at no cost to people who are blind or visually impaired, veterans, children with autism, and various facilities across both the United States and Canada. These service animals help increase confidence, independence, and mobility among those they assist.
