The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) has announced that the 2026 IAM Scholarship Competition will open for applications on October 1, 2025. The competition will accept online entries until February 6, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.

Eligibility for the scholarship is extended to IAM members with at least two years of continuous service and their children who are current high school seniors in the United States and Canada. Applicants can access online applications, rules, and additional information through the IAM Scholarship Competition page.

According to the organization, “Out of the 300+ applicants in 2025, the IAM awarded 16 scholarships valued at $4,000 per student to members and their children. The IAM has a vocational-technical two-year scholarship for members and their children which is also included in the scholarship awards.”

The scholarship fund was established by delegates at the 1960 IAM Grand Lodge Convention and is used solely to support these awards.

Further details about eligibility requirements and application procedures are available on the official IAM Scholarship website.
