The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Women’s & Young Workers Department is now accepting registrations for two upcoming leadership programs. The Women’s Leadership Program will be held from March 1 to March 6, 2026, and the Advanced Women’s Leadership Program will take place from March 15 to March 20, 2026. Both events are scheduled at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland.

The Women’s Leadership Program aims to encourage union members to become more active within their local chapters and districts. According to the IAM, this program is designed “to build leadership skills and develop skills in the areas of organizing, parliamentary procedure, political and legislative involvement, strategic planning, and network building.”

For those who have already completed the initial program, the Advanced Women’s Leadership Program offers further training. It focuses on enhancing previous knowledge while developing additional leadership abilities in similar areas such as organizing, parliamentary procedures, political engagement, strategic planning, and networking.

IAM states that these programs are intended to provide participants with “the tools and confidence needed to lead effectively at every level of the union and to strengthen solidarity across our membership.”

Details about tuition, transportation, and curriculum can be found in the official call letter provided by IAM. Registration must be submitted using the Departmental Program Registration Form.

The deadline for registering for the Women’s Leadership Program is January 21, 2026. For those interested in the Advanced Women’s Leadership Program, registration closes on February 11, 2026.

Members seeking more information or who have questions are advised to contact the IAM Women’s & Young Workers Department at 301-967-4747.

IAM encourages eligible members “to take advantage of this important educational opportunity and continue building a stronger, more inclusive IAM.”
