The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) recently conducted its 2025 Joint Air Transport Safety Committee (JATSC) Conference at the William W. Winpisinger Center in Hollywood, Maryland. The event focused on advancing safety within the air transport sector.
Key topics addressed by the committee included the promotion of collaborative safety initiatives, such as the Ground Safety Action Program. Efforts were also directed toward preventing injuries, mitigating hazards, supporting training and educational activities, and advocating for strong systems that enable workers to report safety concerns.
The conference featured daily video summaries that provided overviews of each day’s sessions. These included presentations on reducing distracted driving and tackling workplace challenges such as carelessness and complacency.
