Fifteen members, staff, and activists from the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers participated in an advanced Organizing III training program at the Winpisinger Center in late March.

The event aimed to strengthen organizing skills among union representatives, which is important for maintaining and growing union membership across industries. The ability to teach effective organizing strategies is seen as essential for the long-term success of labor unions.

According to a report released on Mar. 31, participants focused on improving their communication abilities so they can instruct others within their local unions. The course covered various teaching techniques and learning styles designed to help attendees become more effective trainers themselves.

The group included individuals from air transport, aerospace, automotive, and other sectors. Throughout the week-long session, they worked together on mastering methods that will allow them to lead their own organizing committees.

The training prepares union members not only to organize but also to share these skills with others in their workplaces. This approach supports ongoing growth and resilience within the labor movement.
