Jon Holden has been appointed as the General Vice President of Training and Apprenticeships for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, effective April 1, according to an announcement made at the recent MNPL Conference in Savannah, Georgia.

The appointment was decided by a unanimous vote from the IAM Executive Council. Holden previously served as president of IAM District 751 in Washington state, where he represented tens of thousands of high-skilled workers who primarily built Boeing aircraft at manufacturing facilities.

This leadership change is significant for members involved in union training and apprenticeship programs. The new role places Holden at the forefront of shaping future workforce development within the organization.

Holden’s experience leading a large district with a focus on skilled labor is expected to influence his approach to training initiatives across the union. His background may help address ongoing needs for advanced skills among machinists and aerospace workers.

The appointment signals a continued emphasis on education and skill-building within the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
