TCEQ approves over $500,000 in fines for environmental regulation violations

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has approved penalties totaling $250,498 against 14 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations. The commission took this action during its meeting on July 23.

Agreed orders were issued in several enforcement categories, including one air quality case, one municipal solid waste case, three municipal wastewater discharge cases, and four public water system cases. Default orders were issued for one multi-media violation and four petroleum storage tank violations.

Additionally, the TCEQ executive director approved penalties amounting to $253,560 against 72 entities on July 15 and July 22.
