TCEQ issues over $470K in fines for environmental violations

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has approved penalties amounting to $344,765 against 23 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations. The enforcement actions included agreed orders in categories such as air quality, industrial hazardous waste, industrial and municipal wastewater discharge, petroleum storage tanks, public water systems, sludge, and water quality.

Default orders were also issued in several areas: multi-media violations, municipal solid waste, petroleum storage tanks, utilities, and water quality.

Additionally, the executive director approved penalties totaling $126,988 against 44 entities on July 29 and August 5.
