The Texas Real Estate Commission has announced that a revised version of the Information About Brokerage Services (IABS 1-2) form is now mandatory for use starting January 1, 2026. The update comes as a result of Senate Bill 1968, which will take effect on the same date and introduces new requirements to The Real Estate License Act (TRELA).

Senate Bill 1968 adds a non-representation status and requires written agreements in certain situations involving real estate transactions. As a result, the language in the IABS notice has been updated to reflect these legislative changes. Additionally, the description of contact information within the form has been modified to better match current terminology.

Another significant change is the removal of references to subagency from the IABS notice. This follows Senate Bill 1968’s elimination of subagency from TRELA.
