More than 6,400 donors contributed a total of $41,558,827 to The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) during the 2025 fiscal year, which ended on August 31. This marks the fourth consecutive year that annual giving to UTEP has exceeded $40 million.

“We are deeply grateful to the thousands of friends of UTEP who support our students and our mission,” said UTEP President Heather Wilson. “Our donors help us change lives and advance knowledge. We couldn’t do nearly as much without them.”

In the past year, scholarships, mining engineering, science, athletics, and computer science programs received some of the largest gifts. Donors made a total of 17,162 individual gifts supporting 514 different programs and projects at UTEP. Over 1,900 people donated to UTEP for the first time in fiscal year 2025.

“I am proud of the work that UTEP’s advancement team did this year, helping to connect giving opportunities to our generous donors,” said Gary Edens, Ed.D., interim vice president of institutional advancement. “From small ones to large ones, every gift makes a difference.”

Of the total amount raised in FY25, gifts under $25,000 accounted for $5.2 million. Major gifts between $25,000 and $1 million reached $13.6 million, while principal gifts over $1 million totaled $22.8 million.

UTEP serves more than 26,000 students, with about 84% identifying as Hispanic and more than half being first-generation college students. The university offers 171 degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
