The Winpisinger Center has announced it will begin offering Online Steward Training starting October 1. The program is designed for new shop stewards who are unable to attend in-person sessions at the center.

“This initiative is another step forward in expanding our members’ access to quality union education, no matter where they live or work,” said Winpisinger Center Director Mary McHugh.

The training is available to all members in good standing who serve as stewards. The course will be held over three weeks, with each session lasting two hours and covering two main topics. Sessions are scheduled three times a week to provide flexibility for participants.

The first week will focus on the role of the steward and steward rights and responsibilities. The second week will cover grievances and investigations. The final week will address just cause and discipline cases, as well as contract cases and past practice.

Members interested in participating can self-register for the training online or by using provided links. Additional questions can be directed to the Winpisinger Center through an online form.
